Wilde life appeal…

Pop singer turned celebrity gardener Kim Wilde is running a special fun day for families at The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust Martin Mere, near Ormskirk, on Saturday.

Kim, who has written a new book, Gardening With Kids, is hosting the “all kids go free” day to encourage families to spend more time outside after a recent survey commissioned by Timotei showed that the average person in Lancashire will spend a total of four years of their lives in the great outdoors.

“The findings of this research are disheartening,” sighs Kim. “Spending time outdoors and getting back to nature has many benefits for health and well-being. I’m delighted to be launching this fantastic promotion at Martin Mere – it’s the ideal place to rediscover the beauty of nature.”
