Chelsea flower show turned to gold for pop star turned gardening enthusiast Kim Wilde, who scooped a top award with her debut show garden.
Kim celebrated her success with joint sponsors Wyevale Garden Centres who presented her with a bouquet of Sweet Pea flowers, aptly named in her honour. Kim’s Cumbrian fellside garden was created in conjunction with designer, Richard Lucas. As the face of Wyevale, Kim received sponsorship from the UK’s leading Garden Centre group.
Kim said: “I’m absolutely delighted with my achievement. I visit the Chelsea Flower Show every year and it really is a dream come true for me to have won Gold for my first show garden here.”
Wyevale’s head of marketing Steve Hougham said: “Chelsea Flower Show is the ideal environment to celebrate a very prosperous partnership which has continued to flourish during the spring season. Kim’s unswerving support of Wyevale has been critical throughout our latest expansion programme which saw the launch of eight redeveloped Garden Centres. In addition, Kim has fronted our national advertising campaign as well as offering inspirational gardening advice to Wyevale customers.”
The recently launched Sweet Pea Kim Wilde, is available as potted seedlings exclusively from Wyevale Garden Centres.
