Are your children not interested in plants yet?
Maybe sound will lure them into the garden. Kim Wilde, singer and gardener, placed several objects in her garden that could make sound. “This year, they are wind gongs to create a relaxing environment for my children”, she says. “Of course, children are not always in a relaxing mood, so for the more extravert moments I have made a xylophone made out of wooden sticks. There are also grasses and bamboo, making beautiful sounds in the wind”. You can find more ideas in her book ‘Tuinieren met kinderen’, published by Veltman Uitgevers, ISBN 90 5920 500 6.
