Kim Wilde – Never say never

Yes, really: Kim Wilde is back with her first album in over ten years. Her voice still sounds the same as before and she looks great, but what a strange cd. On ‘Never say never’ there are eight, sometimes very nice new songs (like the strong pop single ‘Perfect Girl’ and the rocking ‘I Fly’) but also six new version of old hits. ‘You Keep Me Hangin’ On’ is now a duet with generation colleague Nena, whereas trance producer Paul Oakenfold remixed ‘Cambodia’. It makes a strange ratatouille of ‘Never say Never’. It’s a mystery what the idea behind it was, but it’s not any more boring that the latest albums by Kylie and Madonna.
