Congratulations to Roxanne Wilde, youngest child of Fifties singer Marty Wilde and younger sister of Eighties chart-topper turned gardening guru Kim Wilde. She has become engaged and is planning a family performance for her wedding in September.
The backing singer, 27 (she was named after the Police hit), who has toured with both her father and sister Kim, famed for her hit Kids In America, is to marry 30-year-old salsa teacher Richard Rizzo at Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire.
The bride-to-be is daughter of 68-year-old Marty and his wife of nearly 50 years, Joyce. Roxanne reveals: “Dad plans to do a set and we will celebrate until the break of dawn.”
Roxanne, who also has an older brother Ricky, can’t wait for the ceremony, especially after Richard’s romantic proposal. “Ricky took me to Bruges in Belgium and I didn’t know anything. He’d taken mum and dad out before to ask them, so even they knew,” she explains.
“He took me on a horse and carriage and asked me by the Love Lake but I was so shocked I asked him if it was a joke. Then, after I realised what he’d said, I said yes without hesitation!”
