Kim Wilde has revealed her excitement at performing on the ‘Here And Now’ ’80s reunion tour.
The singer, who praised the decade as a good one for the industry, said that she is looking forward to meeting up with some of the people she has met over the course of her career.
“[It’s] a great way to keep in touch with old friends like Howard Jones, who’s a real gentleman, and Altered Images, whom I’ve not seen for ages. And the fans, of course!” she told CityLife.
“I’m personally looking forward to this tour because big arenas are fun to play and when there are other musicians around there’s a real sense of camaraderie as we sit up late at night, drinking soup and reminiscing about the old days.”
Wilde also extended her support to Boy George, whose place on the tour depends on the outcome of his current legal difficulties. She said: “George is musically a national treasure and we should all try to remember that.”
The 2009 leg of the ‘Here And Now’ tour is scheduled for 15 dates across the UK.
