British pop star Kim Wilde was born in West London in 1960. She was the oldest daughter of Marty Wilde and Joyce Baker who was a member of the song and dance group The Vernon Girls. Kim was a DJ and TV presenter who rose to the UK popular record with the song Kids In America in 1983. Kim received the Brit Award as the best British singer in 1987. She has sold over ten million albums worldwide and twenty million albums. Kim Wilde was one of the popular pop stars of the nineties, but in 1998 she decided to become a gardener.
