Kim Wilde says she walked away from her pop career after seeing how stardom left Michael Jackson in “isolation and loneliness”.
The Kids in America singer was on the road with Jacko on his Bad tour in 1988 and otld New! magazine: “The ugliness of the fame was evident in many different ways, like the way it isolates people. It seemed to only bring isolation and loneliness into Michael’s life. I felt that and that was one of the reasons I retired a few years later. Now I have a wonderful balance of family life, being close to nature, but also loving playing live.”
Mother-of-two Kim, now 59, is planning to go back on the road with her Greatest Hits Tour in September.
