Singer Kim Wilde and her actor husband have divorced after secretly separating last year.
The singer wed Hal Fowler, eight years her junior, in 1996. The end of the 25-year marriage was announced in a joint statement on Kim’s social media sites.
It reads: “Kim Wilde and Hal Fowler wish to announce that they amicably separated by agreement last year and have divorced. No third party is involved. They remain on good terms and wish only the best for each other in the next phases of their lives. No further comment or statements will be made.”
Kim, 62, daughter of rock’n’roll legend Marty Wilde, shot to fame in 1981 with Kids In America. She became a household name, her blow-dried blonde mullet copied by teenage girls everywhere. The couple, who met as co-stars in the West End musical Tommy, have a son Harry, 24 and daughter, Rose, 22.
During the 1980s Kim had a number of hits including You Came, Chequered Love and Never Trust a Stranger. She also toured with David Bowie and Michael Jackson.
In 1998 she began an alternative career as a landscape gardener, hosting shows for the BBC and Channel 4. She won a gold award for her courtyard garden at the Chelsea Flower Show. Earlier this year Kim began her Coviddelayed Greatest Hits tour.
Fowler, 54, is best-known for appearing in 2018 movie Solo: A Star Wars Story and as Lord Godalming in the 2013 TV series Dracula.
