With Kim Wilde and the Capitol Theater Offenbach as the location on October 22, 2022, the organizer Shooter Promotion has chosen the perfect combination for this evening. This was rewarded with a sold-out house.
Those who wanted could get in the mood for this evening in the gastronomy area with snacks and drinks in advance. There was no opening act, the show started right on the dot at 8 p.m. It started out relatively subdued, with Kim Wilde doing her best to grab her audience from the start. The slow start was probably due to the choice of titles, with “Never Trust a Stranger” being one of the best known. A pop-dance block consisting of “If I can’t have you” (Bee Gees) “Second Time” and the ancient pop title “M – Pop Muzik” did not fully hit the hearts of the audience.
80’s party with all Kim Wilde classics
But after a good half hour, the ice was suddenly completely broken with “Anyplace Anywhere Anytime” – from then on it was time to dance and sing along in the sold-out house. Kim Wilde insisted on singing Nena’s part in German.
From that moment on, the 80s party started incessantly with all Kim Wilde classics. Kim Wilde’s 7-piece band, with Ricky Wilde (Kim Wilde’s brother), his daughter Scarlett, and two drummers (Emily Dolan Davies) gave everything from that moment on and inspired with stage show, humor and great joy of playing. In the meantime, the Capitol had long since turned into a cheering and dance floor hall that evening, and nobody was sitting in the tiers for a long time.
After more than 90 minutes, long standing ovations and four encores, the journey through time to the 80s unfortunately came to an end.
In short: a successful evening. There is a risk of repetition in the sense of Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime.
