EIGHTIES pop fave Kim Wilde is targeting a major Glastonbury Festival comeback. The Kids In America singer, left, releases new LP Closer next year and she’s in talks with Worthy Farm organisers to play at the event for the first time on the back of new music.

Kim teased: “We’re kinda hoping we might do that next year. We’re just waiting for the invitation.”

After ruling the charts in the 80s, Kim changed direction and got into gardening: “I did take a step out of the music industry for a while ‘cause I stopped having fun – and then I found horticulture. But, when I came back into music, the fun came back because we started doing all this live work – and that’s when I started really enjoying my career in a completely different way.” And new LP Closer, which arrives in January featuring a duet with Midge Ure, is her favourite work yet: “There are ten bangers on the album.”
