Labelled a companion to her Close LP from 1988, Kim’s mix of pop, rock and heavy synths with a distinct Euro edge hark back to her commercial peak. The chugging Gary Numan-esque Midnight Train is drenched in nostalgia, while Midge Ure pops up on stand-out Sorrow Replaced. It’s the sound of an artist who unapologetically knows her audience and they feel closer for it.
