Kim Wilde has released many songs during her career. Some of them have been covered by other artists. On Cover Friday, Wilde Life presents cover versions of Kim Wilde songs. This week: Mario Lopez.

Users of digital services like iTunes or Google Play will surely have noticed a version of 'You came' by a certain Mario Lopez. It was released in January 2008 in no less than seven versions: remixes by Michael Mind, C-Base, D Mand and Lisaya vs. Petersen. The version is not very spectacular: just another dance version of this familiar Kim Wilde song. But who is Mario Lopez?

Lopez was born on May 4, 1969 in Hannover (Germany) and made a name for himself as a DJ. His first hit single was 'The sound of nature', released in October 1999. Between 2000 and 2006 he had various minor hits in Germany, including a cover version of A-ha's 'The sun always shines on TV'. In March 2008, his version of 'You came' reached number 74 in the German singles chart, during a chart run of just 2 weeks. It was his last chart appearance to date.
