Kim Wilde has released many songs during her career. Some of them have been covered by other artists. On Cover Friday, Wilde Life presents cover versions of Kim Wilde songs. This week: the Peoples.
Such is the 'Classic' status of Kim Wilde's debut hit 'Kids in America', that every punk band, rock band or even cover band will put it in their setlist. Meet The Peoples, a Belgian cover band, formed in October 2010 by Kurt Even, Peter Goven, Sammy Van de Velde and Dimitri Van de Velde. In 2014 a fifth member, bassist Rox joined the band.
While The Peoples haven't released any records, their repertoire is quite impressive and ranges from Kim Wilde to the recently deceased Prince, from the Beatles to Bruno Mars and from Metallica to Coldplay. They play at weddings, anniversaries and school parties. No worldwide pop stars, but who knows... this video of 'Kids in America' looks good enough anyway. You can reach the band on their own website, peoples.be.
