Kim Wilde has released many songs during her career. Some of them have been covered by other artists. On Cover Friday, Wilde Life presents cover versions of Kim Wilde songs. This week: Tony Sherman.

Born in Haarlem (Netherlands), Tony Sherman's parents were from the Netherlands Antilles. He had some success in the Netherlands both as a solo artist and as part of the Sherman brothers. His biggest hits were 'Tonight' (1974), 'I wrote you a letter' (1974) and 'As' (1977), a cover of the Stevie Wonder song.

In 1982 he appeared on the single 'Stars on Stevie' by Stars on 45. A year later, he released a version of 'Dancing in the dark' almost at the same time as Kim's single. Although there were was even a 12" single - still not too standard in those days, especially for Dutch artists - the single failed to become a hit.
