Last Tuesday it was 34 years ago that Kim Wilde released her second album 'Select'. The album cover photo was shot by Gered Mankowitz, a legendary photographer who made more famous album covers than you can keep up with: Kate Bush ('Lionheart'), Eurythmics ('Revenge'), The Jam ('This is the modern world' and many more.
On this week's Throwback Thursday, here's an alternative shot from that photo session, for your viewing pleasure. Some of Gered's images have become part of the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery. A new book about his photography is due to be published in August. You can pre-order it here.
