Prepared in secret by family and friends, Marty Wilde was the subject of an episode of the BBC programme This is your life which was broadcast on December 15, 1982. Guests in the programme included the Vernons Girls, the Wildcats, Dave Edmunds, Justin Hayward, Mickie Most, plus various other people with whom Marty worked during his career. The photograph below shows Marty entering the hall with his daughter KIm, hand in hand, before the whole spectacle starts.
