Kim Wilde's first records were written and produced by her father and brother, Marty and Ricky. The three of them have had a great influence on the music world, as this regular series 'Wilde World' shows.
If last year's entry about Koda Kumi was a bit of a surprise, we have another one for you this week. Ricky Wilde and Steve DuBerry wrote a song called 'Southern cross', which was picked up by Japanese popstar Daichi Miura (or 三浦大知 as he is known locally).
He was born on August 24, 1987. He debuted as a singer ten years later as part of the group Folder. He left the group in 2000 when his voice changed as a result of puberty. Five years later, he returned as a solo artists, and a successful one at that: he has released five albums and 18 singles in the following decade. His debut album 'D-ROCK with U' was released in January 2006, and that album contained the song 'Southern cross', which was also released as the third single off the album. The single reached number 34 in the Japanese singles chart.
