Kim Wilde has released many songs during her career. Some of them have been covered by other artists. On Cover Friday, Wilde Life presents cover versions of Kim Wilde songs. This week: Church Brothers.
Kim Wilde and Nena had a big hit in Europe back in 2003 with 'Anyplace anywhere anytime', a new version of Nena's Eighties hit 'Irgendwie, irgendwo, irgendwann'. Since then, a handful of cover versions have been recorded.
Listening to the Church Brothers version of 'Anyplace anywhere anytime' you almost think that it is a joke. But then, the whole concept of their album, 'Gregorian Superhits' is quite funny. They sing songs like 'Anyone of us', 'Caravan of love', 'Crazy' and 'When a man loves a woman' in a kind of Enigma version of Gregorian chanting. Credited vocalists are Charly Zenz and Michael Menda, who have been involved in more meditation-oriented music.
