Kim Wilde has released many songs during her career. Some of them have been covered by other artists. On Cover Friday, Wilde Life presents cover versions of Kim Wilde songs. This week: Marty Wilde.

You could argue, of course, that if you've actually written the songs yourself, you could hardly be accused of recording a cover version. Still, on the occasion of Marty Wilde celebrating his 60 years on stage(!) in London today, we thought we might as well put him in the spotlights. For it is he, who recorded "cover versions" of three Kim Wilde songs: Kids in America, Shane and You'll never be so wrong.

'Shane' and 'You'll never be so wrong' appeared on Marty's 1994 album 'Solid gold', released on his own label Select. 'Kids in America' appeared as a bonus track on the CD release of 'Born to Rock 'n' Roll' in 1995 - a CD of an LP released a decade earlier. Here's hoping these track make an appearance at the Cadogan Hall tonight.
