Throwback Thursday

Date

It's 12 years ago today that Kim Wilde won a gold medal at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Together with Richard Lucas she created the Cumbrian Fellside Garden, which won a gold medal and the 'Best in show' award for the category 'Courtyard Gardens'. Finally, it also won the BBC RHS People's Award in the 'Small gardens' category.

When the show opened, many people went to see the garden, and there was much interest from the press. Meanwhile, Kim also took time out to sign copies of her book 'Gardening with children', which was published earlier in the month. This photograph was taken in her own garden, just hours after the medals were handed out, while she was being interviewed for a TV report. A proud and happy woman indeed!
