Exactly 30 years ago, on October 19, 1987, MCA Records re-released Kim Wilde's fifth studio album 'Another Step' in the UK. The re-release was prompted by the success, earlier that year, of 'You keep me hangin' on' reaching number one in the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in the USA. Meanwhile, in the UK Kim had released remixed single versions of 'Another step (closer to you)' and 'Say you really want me'. The new album featured all the tracks of the original album, plus these two single versions and a megamix of all three hit singles. The vinyl LP came with a free 12", while the three tracks were simply added to the cassette and CD versions. The release didn't help the chart success of the album much: the original release of the album reached number 88, whereas this re-release peaked at number 73.
A photo session with Laurie Lewis produced a few pictures that were used for a new sleeve for this album. The same photograph was also used on the Japanese remix album 'You keep me hangin' on'.
