Kim Wilde has released many songs during her career. Some of them have been covered by other artists. On Cover Friday, Wilde Life presents cover versions of Kim Wilde songs. This week: Aje’h.
If you’re looking for cover versions of Kim Wilde’s ‘Kids in America’, you’re likely to find the version of Aje’h, because it’s available in iTunes and CDBaby, amongst others. Aje’h was an all girl band, formed in 2007 in New York. The band consisted of Alexandra and Hayley, who were 14 at the time, and Jennifer and Eleni, who were 12. They performed classic rock and pop songs such as ‘We will rock you’, ‘We got the beat’ and ‘Kids in America’, plus new original songs. Their material was released on a CD called ‘Believe’, produced by Chris Trevett, a producer, mixer and songwriter based in New York City who also worked with artists like Britney Spears, nSync, Backstreet Boys and R. Kelly.
Predictably, the band vanished from sight within a short few years, and the members were never heard from again.
