Cover Friday: Wynand Windpomp

Kim Wilde has released many songs during her career. Some of them have been covered by other artists. On Cover Friday, Wilde Life presents cover versions of Kim Wilde songs. This week: Wynand Windpomp.

Wynand Windpomp (real name: Wynand Burger) may not be a household name in Europe, but in South Africa he is a successful musician. Wynand’s music career began in Stellenbosch where he played in an orchestra called Another 48 Hours. He later moved to Worcester where he formed the band No Strings Attached and later joined the group Sequence. His debut album, ‘Te Ladida’, was released in 2004. In 2014 his song ‘EVA’ with rapper Q.ROCK (Quintus Swartz) won the prize for song of the year. He’s recorded songs in the South African language (Afrikaans) and English.
