Big Love

Song written by Lindsey Buckingham. It was originally going to be part of his third solo album which he began working on in 1985, but the project became a Fleetwood Mac album instead. It appeared on the 1987 album ‘Tango in the Night’, and released as the lead single of that album. Since Buckingham left Fleetwood Mac in 1987 shortly after the release of the album, the band never performed the song live until the reunion in 1997. On his first solo tour in 1993 Buckingham performed a guitar-only version of the song. In 1997, he performed it in the same style on Fleetwood Mac’s live album and video ‘The Dance’.

Kim Wilde version

Kim Wilde performed the song live during her Dutch tour in November 2017 as an acoustic track with Lawrence Hill, with Ricky and Lawrence providing guitar accompaniment and Ricky and Scarlett Wilde performing backing vocals.

Lyrics

Lookin’ out for love
In the night so still
Oh I’ll build you a kingdom
In that house on the hill

Lookin’ out for love
Big, big love

You said that you love me
And that you always will
Oh you begged me to keep you
In that house on the hill

Lookin’ out for love
Big, big love

I wake up alone with it all
I wake up but only to fall

Lookin’ out for love
Big, big love
Lookin’ out for love
Big, big love

You said that you love me
And that you always will
Oh you begged me to keep you
In that house on the hill

Lookin’ out for love
Big, big love
Lookin’ out for love
Big, big love
