Morella’s Forest formed in Dayton, Ohio in 1992 by Sydney Rentz (vocals, lyrics), Shawn Johnson (guitars/keyboards), Sean McCorkle (bass), and Nate McCorkle (drums). They released their debut album ‘Superdeluxe’ in 1995, sounding a lot like new wave and ‘shoegazing’ music, with dreamy and hypnotic melodies. Their second album ‘Ultraphonic hiss’ appeared a year later, with ‘From Dayton with love’ following in 1998. On this album, their cover of Kids in America appears.
Morella’s Forest’s final album ‘Tiny lights of heaven’ appeared in 2002. Shortly afterwards, the band broke up.
