Released in November and December 2001 in most territories, this is the first Kim Wilde-approved compilation released by EMI Records. The previous incarnation of The Very Best of Kim Wilde (released in 1984) contained material recorded between 1981 and 1983, while Kim was under contract with EMI, only.
This album contains the greatest hits as recorded between 1981 and 1993, as well as one new track (Loved) and two new remixes.
It was released to coincide with the Here & Now Tour 2001 that took Kim and six other artists all around the UK in November 2001.
The sleeve photograph, which was taken in 1995, was chosen by Kim. The sleeve was designed by the team at EMI. The compilation took about three months to put together.
