Victim

Song written by Ricky, Kim and Marty Wilde. Bonus track on the CD and tape of Another Step. It was not included on the LP format, making it the first Kim Wilde track totally unavailable on vinyl.

Versions

There are two versions of ‘Victim’. The original version was released in 1986. When the album ‘Another Step’ was made available as a digital download in 2013, Cherry Pop mistakenly offered an alternate version of the track for a short while. This mistake was quickly fixed, so only a handful of people were able to download this version for a couple of days.

Lyrics

Back in my younger days
Decided to break away
Get out the door find a place to stay
The folks took it bad you see
The pride in the family
Guess they expected a nurse some day

But we were out there and gunnin’
Fuelled up and runnin’
Out on the highway
Looking for something
Your crazy world does nothing for us
And if we shout you just ignore us
So no more push and shove
The victims of your love

It was back in my younger days
Decided to break away
Get out the door find a place to stay

Cos we were out there and gunnin’
Fuelled up and runnin’
Lost on the highway
Looking for something
Your crazy world does nothing for us
And if we shout you just ignore us
So no more push and shove
The victims of your love
