Kim about ‘World in Perfect Harmony’
It’s just about this dream I have… (1)
It’s a very idealistic song, perhaps naively so in many ways. In fact probably naively so. I can’t help but have a positive feeling about the future. When you’re surrounded by children – I’ve got an 11 year old sister and a 9 year old brother – you have to be positive about the future. You have to have an attitude that says, ‘right, I’m gonna make this work, this is gonna work’. You have to. It’s hard though – look around, there’s not much to encourage you to be positive about the world, our future. That song is very, very positive, you know. There’s a song on the album called Who’s to blame, which is slightly more realistic and a much more melancholy, sad appraisal of the world situation. That’s why I’m glad the two songs are on the same album. I think it would have been wrong to have one attitude on it. It would have been a bit naive, really. (2)

Lyrics
Let’s think of the good things
Instead of all the bad
We mustn’t give into
A world that’s going mad
So hold on, we can survive
We’ve got to keep the spirit
Of destiny alive
Just say that we can if we try
Like the rivers need the mountains
Just like the flowers need the rain
Pleasure need the pain
However far away it seems
I’m dreaming for a world
In perfect armony
And we’ve got to face it
There’s nowhere left to hide
(but we need) a determination
To change the wrong to right
The future’s a baby born
Looking for us for strength
To keep it from harm
You know we’ll succeed if we try
Like the rivers need the mountains
Just like flowers need the rain
Pleasure need the pain
How ever far away it seems
I’m dreaming for a world
In perfect harmony
Don’t let your dreams escape
The future’s ours to shape
