Get Out

Song written by Pete Kirtley, Erik Nyholm and Sacha Collisson. Eleventh track on the album Come Out and Play.

Live performances

‘Get out’ was performed live during the Come Out and Play Tour in 2011 and the Snapshots & Greatest Hits Tour in 2012.

Kim about ‘Get out’

Fulfills my criterium for any album, that at least one song must have a certain ‘bite’. I’ve always liked songs where I got the chance to show another side of me. To sit in the scene can sometimes be just wonderful! I love this song. (1)

I was writing with [Pete Kirtley], he played me the track and I remember phoning up Rick and saying ‘I think we’ve got a smash hit, a great one to play live and it will be a great surprise, I think, for a lof of KW fans. People who have liked some of my stuff, they will love this one. (2)

Lyrics

I got a feeling and I don’t like it
What you do, what you do, what you do to me
I’ve been brainwashed, I gotta fight it
Now i see, what you do, what you do to me

I’m taking control tonight
I know what I want tonight

Get out of my face and out of my skin
Don’t wanna go back, I’m not gonna let you in
Get out of my head … out of my head
Get out of my bed and run for your life
I’m shutting you down
You’re not gonna twist my mind
Get out of my head, get out of my head

I’m disconnecting, erasing everything
What you did, what you did, what you did to me
This time I don’t care, so shut your mouth yeah
Nothing left you could do, you could do to me

I’m taking control tonight …

Hey – Get out of my face …

This is my life
And I’m taking it back for the last time
Now it’s too late and I’m turning my back
Got my head straight

Get out of my face …

This is my life …

Carry Me Home

Song written by Kim Wilde, Fredrik Thomander and Anders Wikström. Released as the fourteenth track of the download album of Come Out and Play.

Lyrics

Walking through these city streets
The winter night is young
I’m watching as the people pass
As lovers laugh, their working day is done
All the morning it’s been snowing down on this enchanted town
And I’m so many miles from home
I’m all alone, but I can feel you with me now

I carry my home in my heart
Carry, carry me home
Carry me home to you
How I miss you darlin’
Until I see you again

I will carry my home in my heart
Carry, carry me home
Carry me home to you
And you know it won’t be long
Til I’m back where I belong

Looking back on all the years of family and friends
I see it very clearly now
I now they’re all that matters in the end
And a lonely bell is ringing out
Its blessings to us all
And as I count them one by one
I know that I could never ask for more

Lyrics

Don’t have to justify myself
Don’t have to do the things you say
And even when you say its wrong
You know I’ll do it anyway

I love it, I need it
This love that I breathe I can feel it within
I love it, I need it

I’m addicted to you, addicted to you now
You’re running through my veins
I’m addicted to you, addicted to you now
And it’s the sweetest pain
I can’t live without it, with you I just need more

It doesn’t take a second glance
For me to see the lust you feel
I mustn’t leave it all to chance
So take it now and fix me good
