Singles Collection (the)

French compilation album, released in 1996, to coincide with the UK release of Shame. It contains the original version of that track, the duet with Laurent Voulzy entitled Les Nuits Sans Kim Wilde plus a few other tracks that were not included in The Singles Collection 1981-1993.

Remix Collection (the)

Collection of remixes, taken from various 12″ singles and CD-singles, released by MCA Records in Australia and Japan in 1993 in support of Kim’s Hits Tour in those countries.
The album is considered a rarity in Europe for the inclusion of the otherwise unreleased Maranza mix of Kids in America and some other remixes which were only released on vinyl in Europe.

Originals (the)

A series of boxed sets of 3 Compact Discs, released by EMI. There are many of these ‘Originals’ box sets available by artists and groups such as Marillion, Crowded House and many more. There’s also one of Kim Wilde.
It’s a boxed set of the albums Kim Wilde, Select, Catch as Catch Can, released in 1995. It was the first European release of Kim’s third album. The CD’s were each packaged in 5″ cardboard sleeves which were exact replicas of their respective 12″ album sleeves.

Hits Collection (the)

Compilation album, released by EMI Gold on 6 March 2006. Originally, EMI Gold intended to release another version of the 1996 compilation The Best of Kim Wilde. Marcel Rijs approached them in January, offering to compile a different tracklisting. The compilation became the first EMI collection to include all of the A- and B-sides of the singles released in the UK between 1981 and 1983. Bonus tracks include the two twelve inch remixes released by EMI in 1983 and, released for the first time in Europe, Bitter Is Better.

Gold Collection (Greatest Hits) (the)

This compilation, one of a series of Gold Collections from different EMI artists, was basically a re-release of the albums Kim Wilde and Select, excluding the track Cambodia, but including, oddly enough, the Cambodia Reprise.
The disc was re-released shortly after its original release with the title ‘Gold Collection: Greatest Hits’, in a slightly different sleeve, but with the same catalogue number.
The same track listing later appeared on The Best of Kim Wilde and 20 Classic Tracks, two subsequent compilation albums.

On 20 August 2014, the CD was re-released in Japan as a limited edition, dropping the ‘Gold Collection’ subtitle entirely but with the same tracklisting and sleeve design.

Compilation album, released by EMI Records on 31 October 2008. The album is a repackaging of the discs Centenary Collection and Premium Gold Collection, which were released in 1997. The twenty tracks include all of Kim’s singles for EMI between 1981 and 1983, most of the B-sides and a good selection of album tracks.
