Special Sampler

Now one of the most collectable promotional discs in Kim Wilde’s career, this cd was released by MCA Japan to coincide with the release of The Singles Collection 1981-1993. It included the song If I Can’t Have You four times, plus a selection of greatest hits.

Rough & Tough

Another compilation album released on the EMI Plus label. It contains all the singles released between 1981 and 1983, with the exception of House of Salome. The 18 tracks are taken from all three of Kim’s albums which she recorded for RAK Records in 1981, 1982 and 1983. It’s the 23rd compilation of Kim Wilde songs originally released by EMI.

This compilation is called ‘Rough & Tough’ after the series of compilations released on the label. Other titles include work by Nona Hendryx, Sass Jordan, Suzi Quatro and Jennifer Rush. The CD is housed in a ‘digipack’ style sleeve.

More of the Best

Compilation album, released by Disky in 1998. As a follow-up to The Best of Kim Wilde it mainly contains Kim’s third album for EMI, Catch as Catch Can, with the addition of some B-sides and 12″ mixes. On this CD, the track Shane is released for the first time on CD for the general public. It was already included on the French promotional CD-single Un Bouquet de Rock, but that one was was never available in shops.

Love Blonde: The Best of Kim Wilde

The second compilation album released by EMI in 1993. This sudden move by EMI France to release a redesigned version of The Very Best of Kim Wilde with three extra tracks in the spring of 1993 caused MCA to postpone the release of The Singles Collection 1981-1993. The CD in itself was interesting for its inclusion of two 12″ mixes and an old B-side, all of which were never released on CD before.
