Debut Tour

Kim Wilde was already a household name when she undertook her first live tour. After almost two years of promotion via music videos and TV performances, she embarked on her first live dates in Denmark in September 1982, and then in October/November 1982 a European tour followed. The tour started on 5 October 1982 at the Colston Hall in Bristol (UK) and finished on 16 November 1982 in Roma, Antwerp (Belgium).

Kim’s band during this tour consisted of Steve Byrd (guitar), Trevor Murrell (drums), Ricky Wilde (keyboards, guitar), Gary Barnacle (saxophone & flute), Graham Pleath (keyboards, guitar), Mark Heyward Chaplin (bass), Lynne Jones (background vocals) and Gaynor Wild (background vocals).

The concert always started with the sound of ‘Cambodia-Reprise’. The songs played during the concerts were:

Come Out and Play Tour

Kim Wilde’s embarked on the Come Out and Play Tour in February and March 2011. The tour consisted of 13 dates. It started on February 19, 2011 at Spirgarten in Zurich (Switzerland) and ended on March 20, 2011 at Tivoli in Utrecht (Netherlands).

The concerts started with the intro of Greatest Journey. The songs played during the concerts were:

You!, The Second Time, Anyplace, Anywhere, Anytime, Words Fell Down, Lights Down Low, Real Life, I Want What I Want, Suicide, Cambodia, Never Trust a Stranger, View from a Bridge, Jessica, Love Blonde, Thought It Was Goodbye, Sleeping Satellite, Together We Belong, Can’t Get Enough (Of Your Love), My Wish Is Your Command, This Paranoia, You Keep Me Hangin’ On, Forever Young, Get Out, You Came and Kids in America.

Catch tour

Kim Wilde’s second tour took place in November and December 1983. Although she’d done a European tour the year before, this was the first time she appeared in Germany. There were no dates in the UK this time. The tour started on 26 November 1983 at the Palais d’Hiver in Lyon (France) and ended on 10 December 1983 at the Nobelhallen in Karlskoga (Sweden).

Kim’s band during this tour consisted of Steve Byrd (bass), Mark Heyward Chaplin (guitar, keyboards), Richard Blanshard (sax, flute), Kevin McAlea (keyboards, guitar), Boris Williams (percussion & drums).

The concerts started with the intro of Dream Sequence. The songs played during the concerts were:

Bad Tour

In 1988, Kim Wilde was asked to support Michael Jackson during the European leg of his ‘Bad’ tour. After she agreed, this resulted in a four month, 33 date tour across Europe, starting on 23 May 1988 at the Flaminio Stadium in Rome (Italy) and ending on 11 September 1988 at the Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool (UK). Eight more tour dates were opened by Taylor Dayne instead of Kim Wilde (between 5 and 23 August). A combined total of almost 2 million people attended the concerts that were opened by Kim Wilde.

Kim Wilde’s show lasted for approximately 40 minutes and featured the songs:

Chequered Love, You Came, View From a Bridge, The Second Time, Love in the Natural Way, Never Trust a Stranger, Cambodia, Hey Mister Heartache, Kids in America and You Keep Me Hangin’ On. In Paris, Premiere Rencontre was added to the setlist and in London she performed Another Step (Closer To You) with Junior instead of ‘Never Trust A Stranger’.
