From today until July 5, the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show is open for the public. It’s the 25th edition of the flower show, featuring exciting show gardens, the Floral Marquee and an all new Feast zone, where visitors can pick up ideas and top tips on how to grow and cook your own food.
Kim is no stranger to Hampton Court. Her first professional outing on the show was in 2003, when she presented a rose called Bright Ideas for Colin Horner and the East of England Development Agency. In 2004, she worked on a show garden together with Richard Lucas and designers Mark Turner and Michael Steel. The Tower Garden, as it was called, was awarded a silver medal. A year later, Kim was back at Hampton Court, promoting the ‘Think Pink’ campaign together with Wyevale. Pink gardening gloves and matching tugs were being sold with 50p from every item going to the charity.
In 2006, Kim was asked to write a piece for the Charity Gala Preview booklet, handed out at the Hampton Court Flower Show. The piece featured a photograph by Wilde Life’s ‘home photographer’ Katrien Vercaigne, which was of course exciting for us. A year later, Kim wrote an article for the Daily Mail, in which she perfectly described the mood and atmosphere of the show, highlighting some of the gardens that were on display that year. She attended that year’s Charity Gala Preview sporting a painted flower on her cheek as she inspected a children’s garden.
Since 2013, Kim’s radio show on Magic 105.4 is sponsored by the RHS Hampton Court Flower Show. Listeners can expect to win free tickets for the event by sending in their requests.
Will Kim go to this year’s show? Definitely! Hopefully we’ll get to see some pictures. In the mean time, here’s some pictures from the past…
