The brilliant Kim Wilde scrambled thing a bit on Springbok Radio on Friday night. Just after her single 'Kids in America' reached number 2 in the South African chart, her newest record - Chequered love - reached an astonishing number 11 in the Top 20.
For Kim Wilde, who came to South Africa late this week, it will be good news. She became famous in fact after her younger brother Ricky wrote 'Kids in America' and went to look for somebody to record it. Kim made the demo, and Ricky's record company liked it so much they immediately signed her. Kim will be in South Africa for a few days on a promotion trip.
