Silence before the storm reigned briefly in the recordings for a television show. The stars were pacing themselves. While the Italian Alice (‘Carthago’), who had only come to Cologne for this TV appearance, had already relaxed from the morning trials, director Rainer Klingenfuss and the camera crew were still waiting impatiently for star numbers two and three: Kim Wilde and Limahl. Almost it looked as if the title of Kim’s song “Dancing in the dark” was true for the cameras. But then the lights for the recordings with the British still went. Colleague and teenage idol, who recently separated from his group Kajagoogoo, still hovered in the air somewhere between London and the Cologne-Bonn airport.
