Mumsy Kim puts the wild days behind her

She was a genuine Wilde child of pop, with blonde mane, short skirts and globe-trotting lifestyle. But now Kim Wilde has two children of her own, family life is the Number One priority.

The 39-year-old is the picture of domesticity as she poses with her month-old daughter Rose Elizabeth at her home in Hertfordshire. And when not tending to Rose and her two-year-old brother Harry, she is likely to be found outside practising her talent for garden design, which has led to a new TV career.
Paradoxically, it was appearing in the West End production of the rock musical Tommy which signalled the end of her rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle. Kim, who played Tommy’s mother, fell in love with Hal Fowler, who played Cousin Kevin.

The couple married four years ago, bought a converted barn and set about creating a garden together. ‘We designed and made a garden from nothing’, she said. While expecting Harry, she took a garden design course, where she was spotted by researchers from ITV’s Better Gardens. Now she can be seen in green wellies, presenting the programme alongside Carol Vorderman.
Kim tells OK! Magazine that she has never been happier. ‘Being a single pop star running around the world is a world apart from being married with children. I know which world I prefer – and I’m in it.’
