End shot: Kim Wilde

A blonde beauty from the eighties releases a new cd. What do you do? You visit her, you stare at her, and talk about anything. But that’s no punishment with Kim Wilde.

If you were a flower, what kind would you be?
I think I have to think about that for some time. Gardening is my biggest hobby, job, love of life, however you want to call it. You could choose a flower that blooms all year. But I think it’s more romantic to choose a one-time blooming flower. One that blooms one week in a year and everyone enjoys that. On the other hand, I’d love to be a rose. Classic. Strong. A wild rose of course.

What’s the biggest lesson life has taught you?
Give as much love as you can. Always have love, compassion and forgiveness with you and be prepared to share it with everyone. Not that you’ll always use it, but if you can use it now and again, it’s good for yourself and the whole world.

What would you like to say to boys who get off on your pictures?
I don’t think they still do that. Do you think so? I don’t know. I think I would be lost for words. Other than that I would feel honoured if anyone still did that because I am 45 and have given birth to two children.

What are you not good at?
I can’t handle computers at all. And all the new ways of listening to music are still an enigma to me. My husband has to put music on my iPod every time. I am a real cd girl, but he is going to teach me how to do it. I have to be able to do it. I want to.

If you could travel back in time, to which date in history would you want to go?
I think I would want to go back to the beginning of mankind. To see where we come from. I mean, I think we come from a process of evolution, but I would like to see how that went. What started it all. Just to meet our first ancestors.

What’s the biggest misunderstanding people have about you?
A lot of people ask me that. It’s strange. I don’t know what people think of me at all. Maybe that I’m good at growing tomatoes. Which I’m not. They always die on me.

What do you regret?
Nothing. If I had no children, I would regret not having them. Other than that, I’ve no regrets.

What’s the worst thing anyone can ask you?
For a divorce. But the love of my life won’t do that.

What’s the most useless thing you have at home?
A bread machine. A big damn thing. I once got it and used it once. The bread turned out black and the machine caught fire. Totally useless. Now that I think of it, I think I’ve still got it at home. When I come back, I’ll throw it away immediately.
