The world’s largest open-air New Year’s Eve party at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin

Approximately 1,000,000 people enthusiastically celebrated the event at turn of the year. Until the early morning hours party mood prevailed in the hard miles between the Brandenburg Gate and Victory Column.

The hard miles stretching from the Brandenburg Gate over the Strasse des 17. Juni through to the victory column. Two kilometers of party with lots of show stages, international stars and show acts, special highlights, laser and light shows, food from around the world and the world-famous  New Year’s Eve fireworks of Berlin and of course after midnight: the open-end open-air disco.

Also there were Udo Jürgens, Andreas Bourani, Cassandra Steen, Culture Beat, DJ Bobo, Frida Gold, Glasperlenspiel, Hermes House Band, Jimi Jamison, Johnny Logan, Kim Wilde, Marianne Rosenberg and the Boss Hoss. In the new year the Scorpions sang their hit ‘Wind of change’ from midnight before DJ Ötzi took over the microphone shortly afterwards.

The Berlin police has contributed to one of the largest open-air parties of the year for the Berlin citizens and for the many guests in our city. In collaboration with the organizers and other state agencies, the police based on a proven concept for ensuring safety and keep damage to a minimum.
