Waste Not Want Not finds new home

A horticultural charity dedicated to helping people get back on their feet through nurturing plants, will open a new home near Knebworth this month.

The Waste not Want Not charity, which rescues unwanted plants and horticultural materials from landfill and nurseries, revives them and sells them at farmers’ markets and other events, is branching out.

It has been given the chance to develop a site on the Stevenage-Knebworth road near the Roebuck Inn and is holding an opening ceremony on April 12.

Singer, avid gardener and Herts resident Kim Wilde, a patron of the charity since 2008 (pictured with charity director Isobel Barnes and former Herts High Sheriff Arabella Stuart-Smith) said, ‘The event is to raise awareness of WNWN’s existence at this new site as well as the Learning Garden at the Hatfield Galleria and to raise much-needed funds. It will be a joyful musical occasion.’
