Pop legend Kim Wilde visits Butterfly World in St Albans

An eighties pop legend and gardening enthusiast sent crowds wild when she gave a new ‘music meadow’ at St Albans’ Butterfly World a sound check.

Kim Wilde greeted local schoolchildren at the butterfly base in Chiswell Green last Friday when she tried out its latest additions – seven giant instruments made from recycled and household materials.

She is also an acclaimed gardener having won a Gold Medal in 2005 for her garden at the Chelsea Flower show.

Butterfly World, home to butterflies, creepy crawlies and flowers, gives visitors of all ages the opportunity to see, touch, learn and explore its 27 acres.

It houses special habitats, a tropical butterfly house, wildflower meadows and gardens.
