Today in 1988, Kim Wilde released the second single from her acclaimed sixth album 'Close'. The release coincided with the start of her European tour with Michael Jackson, which generated a lot of press interest. The music video was shot during her performance in Berlin on June 19, 1988.
'You came' was inspired by the birth of Ricky and Mandy's first child, a son called Marty. According to Kim: 'being an older sister, it felt really strange and yet wonderful for my little brother to become a father, and together we captured the joy of a new life.' The single went top 10 in most European countries and even reached number 41 and 42 in the USA and Canada respectively.
