On 18 July 1990, Kim was one of 6000 people walking through London in aid of the One Small Step Appeal, which was started by Guy’s Hospital in London to finance operations on children with a brain disorder. The sponsored walkers raised a total of 300.000 UK pounds.
Kim was asked by the hospital to officially hand over the money to one of their patients, the 13 year old Emmett de Montery.
