Love Is Deluxe FAQ

With the re-release of three MCA albums at the end of September 2024, a lot of questions have arisen among fans. In a series of FAQs, we try to answer all your questions, album by album. If you have any additional questions, please contact us.

In this second FAQ, it’s all about Love Is.

When was Love Is originally released?
Love Is was Kim’s eighth studio album, released two years after Love Moves, in 1992.

Will Love Is be released on vinyl?
Yes, there will be two vinyl releases in September: a yellow coloured LP, and a picture disc LP. Both versions contain the full album, plus three bonus tracks: the 1993 singles ‘If I Can’t Have You’ and ‘In My Life’, plus ‘I’ve Found a Reason’, which was originally a B-side.

Will Love Is be released on CD?
Certainly! The CD version will consist of three CD discs and one DVD disc.

Great! Will the CD’s contain any previously unreleased tracks?
The most important discovery is the previously unreleased track ‘One Door Closes’, apparently recorded in February 1993. Other new tracks are alternative mixes of ‘Love Is Holy’ and ‘The Light of the Moon (Belongs to Me)’, an extended mix of ‘I Believe in You’, rough mixes of ‘Love is Holy’, ‘A Miracle’s Coming’ and ‘I Won’t Change the Way that I Feel’ and the original version of ‘If I Can’t Have You’.

Will the CD’s have any tracks new to CD?
The following tracks appear on CD for the first time:

  • Who Do You Think You Are? [Bruce Forest Remix Edit]
  • If I Can’t Have You [John Robinson Instrumental]
  • In My Life [West End 12” Radio Edit]
  • In My Life [Wilde Groovy]

Why are ‘If I Can’t Have You’ and ‘In My Life’ included on Love Is?
Originally these tracks were released as part of The Singles Collection 1981-1993. There are no plans to re-release that compilation album, and as a result, all the various versions of ‘If I Can’t Have You’ and ‘In My Life’ needed a new home. It seemed logical to place them on Love Is. ‘Kids in America 1994’ and all its versions appear on Kim’s next studio album, Now & Forever, thus resulting in two attractive 3CD+DVD packages.
