Kim Wilde on ska compilation album

On 19 February, Cherry Pop releases a 3 CD compilation album called ‘Staring at the Rudeboys: The British Ska Revival 1979-1989’. It is a comprehensive release to cover the UK’s ska revival during the 1980’s. Remarkably, Kim Wilde makes an appearance on this album with the track ‘2 6 5 8 0’.

Those familiar with Kim’s repertoire will recall that this track stands on its own on her debut album as a ska-influenced track, whereas the album also contained pop, rock and even reggae-tinged tracks. It is certainly surprising to find Kim among more expected bands like the Specials, Madness, The Beat, Selecter and Bad Manners.

A near 10,000 word sleeve note provides info on each track in the fully illustrated 44 page booklet. You can pre-order the compilation on the Cherry Red website and Amazon UK.
European customers should be aware that since Brexit import charges may apply when ordering from the UK, and they are better off ordering from Amazon Germany.
