On this day, Good Friday, Kim went to the Bloomsbury-Collegiate Theatre in Euston to lend her assistance to the flagging Music-Biz team in the Marathon Music Quiz which was broadcast by BBC Radio 1 at various times during the holiday. It was a music quiz between the Business and a Radio One Team comprising DJ’s and producers which lasted from 10 am on Good Friday to 6.25 pm on Easter Saturday – without a break. The quizmaster was Mike Reid and the team captains were Martin Rushent (record producer and impresario) for the music business, and Paul Gambaccini for Radio One. These three people were present all the time and were joined by other team members at regular intervals.
As well as competing in the quiz, Kim also took along a signed copy of the ‘Cambodia’ video and assorted singles and albums, also autographed, and these were offered for auction. All the money raised was donated to the Nordoff-Robins Music Therapy Centre for the treatment of handicapped people.
