Wilde World: Olivia Pascal

Kim Wilde’s first records were written and produced by her father and brother, Marty and Ricky. The three of them have had a great influence on the music world, as this regular series ‘Wilde World’ shows.

In a previous installment of our Wilde World series we already wrote about the song ‘I’m a tiger’, as performed by Lulu. This is something that’s likely to happen more: one song written by Marty Wilde was often recorded by several artists. In this case, ‘I’m a tiger’ was recorded in 1980 by German singer and actress Olivia Pascal.

Olivia Pascal was born on May 26, 1957 in Munich (Germany). It appears that she only released one single, consisting of two covers: the A-side featured ‘Glad all over’, originally performed by the Dave Clark Five, and the B-side featured this song, originally recorded by Lulu. She went on to appear in countless TV shows and movies in Germany. She is best known for her appearances in SOKO 5113 (1978), Die Säge des Todes (1981) and Die Schwarzwaldklinik (1985). Her version of ‘I’m a tiger’ remains a bit of a rarity.
